Concepts
Noemata is an odd duck - being agent-first allows it to be a much more flexible and powerful Observability platform, but it also means it uses other concepts than you might be used to.
Three ideas carry most of it:
- Frames translate machine data in a meaningful semantic layer. A frame is defined by a view - a description of what your data means - and visualized through blocks and expressions, a powerful DSL to create rich, interactive dashboards.
- Everything is a file. Frames, queries, notes — your whole workspace is a store of human-readable, versioned, and searchable files. That’s what makes it reviewable, diffable, and the right place for humans and agents to meet.
- Integrations enable one-click onboarding. Noemata will automatically detect and instrument software you use, and install dashboards and other content when you run
noemata up. This makes it tremendously easy to start, and will provide you and your agent with plenty of high-quality templates that can inspire you to build dashboards that are just right for you.
